The Surelock McGill Group of companies are world leaders in high security locking and door systems that protect the nation from threats. As a family run business for over 60 years, we have a busy team that we are looking to expand.
We are always on the lookout for apprentices and have multiple positions at our head office in Wokingham and others based around the country namely (Bedford, Oldham, Kidderminster, and Salisbury).
We have a strong history of apprenticeships and aim to offer valuable training and experience which benefit both our businesses and the individuals gaining them. Role Requirements
- An evident interest in engineering as a subject: This may include hobbies or voluntary work or previous work experience or engineering related school subjects
- Good communication skills
- Strong desire to learn and develop
- Good IT skills - a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and Teams is sufficient
- Strong worth ethic with a can-do attitude and approach
- Be a team player
- Proactive and able to use your initiative
- Understand, and consider, the impact on the end customer and deliver high standards of performance
- Support others and natural curiosity to get involved
Role Responsibilities
Throughout the duration of your apprenticeship, you will be working alongside our experienced engineers, and you will learn and obtain experience in the field of locks and associated security products. You will be taught, and put into practice, engineering skills which will be key for becoming a permanent member of the team
This will include:
- Enabling correct product specification
- Shop floor experience across a variety of production operations
- Product testing and compliance
