Warwick Medical School (WMS) is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to fill the post of Assessment Officer within the Academic and CPD Programmes Administration Team. The role will be responsible for supporting and coordinating assessment and examination preparation for Undergraduate and Postgraduate Taught courses, working alongside Assessment Leads in both areas.

You will provide excellent customer service and be responsible for liaising with the central examination team and complete all requested annual returns. In addition, you would be the first point of contact for staff assessment related queries, as well as organising mitigating circumstances panels and scheduling dates for Board of Examiners meeting across PGT and UG as appropriate.

This new role is offered on a permanent basis, 36.5 hours per week with hybrid working allowing for the role to be undertaken both onsite and remotely.

Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

The Assessment Officer will be responsible for supporting and coordinating assessment and examination preparation for Undergraduate and Postgraduate Taught courses, working alongside Assessment Leads in both areas. This will include duties such as working with module teams to oversee the completion and collation of assessment information forms, assessment briefs, updating student performance trackers, supporting arrangements for delivery of exams, and booking of yearly assessment training within each area.

The postholder would also be responsible for liaising with the central examination team and complete all requested annual returns. In addition, the postholder would be the first point of contact for staff assessment related queries, as well as organising mitigating circumstances panels and scheduling dates for Board of Examiners meeting across PGT and UG as appropriate.

The postholder will provide secretarial support to Mitigating Circumstances Panels as well as assisting with the preparation of PGT and UG Academic progress groups, and Board of Examiners meetings where required.

The Assessment Officer role will be aligned to the current Academic and CPD Administration team. The proposal will result in an additional FA5 post being added to the structure, creating an opportunity for progression within the team.




DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational

1. Lead and be responsible for supporting and coordinating assessment and examination preparation for Undergraduate and Postgraduate Taught courses, working alongside Assessment Leads in both areas.

2. Liaise with module teams to oversee the completion and collation of assessment information forms, assessment briefs and updating student performance trackers.

3. Support arrangements for delivery of exams and booking of yearly assessment training within each area.

4. Liaise with the central examination team and complete all requested annual returns for both UG and PGT provision.

5. Provide excellent customer service as the first point of contact for staff assessment related queries.

6. Be responsible for the scheduling of all PGT and UG assessment-related dates, activities and deadlines working with the Operations Manager.

7. Organise mitigating circumstances panels and provide secretariat support ensuring timely preparation of paperwork

8. Be responsible for timely and accurate communication with students via email or Tabula regarding their mitigating circumstances case submission.

9. Assist with the preparation of PGT and UG Academic Progress Groups, and Board of Examiners meetings where required.

10. Use the SITS Student Records System and other databases to maintain student records.

11. Be actively involved in assessment management via the various systems used across PGT and UG for assessment, including but not limited to Tabula and Moodle


General

12. Be first point of contact to support problem solving and procedural issues as required.

13. Attend University training, information sharing, and guidance meetings/forums as required to develop knowledge and support work undertaken in the role.

14. Provision of reports as required.

15. Attendance at meetings as required.

16. Secretariat duties as required.

17. Other duties may be required in consultation with the Operations Manager.
