“Are you a Qualified Social Worker looking to take the next step into a Leadership role”?

“Social workers are rightly very proud of their work with families” – Ofsted July 2022

At Hull City Council we are committed to our children and young people and we are passionate about how we deliver services to them. That’s why we are developing and nurturing a culture that puts our children and young people at the heart of everything we do - by empowering our workforce to work together to find solutions, to be open, honest, and respectful, to take responsibility and listen and learn from others.

If you value these behaviours too, we’d love to hear from you. Hull is a changing local authority and it’s a fantastic time to join us and be a key player in supporting our journey.

Hull Children’s Young People and Family Services have 1 post for an Assistant Team Manager within our Integrated Front Door Service working in our EHASH team which is co-located with partners from other agencies. Hybrid working is available.

In July 2022 following a monitoring visit of our front door arrangements, Ofsted said:

  • Children and families in Hull now benefit from effective front door services
  • Social workers have open and honest communication with parents which is a real strength.
  • Children and families benefit from timely and evaluative assessments of need by child-centred social workers.
  • Frequent and thorough management oversight is provided to social workers, appropriately informing the next steps.
  • Social workers report that their caseloads are manageable and that they have the time to complete their work and see children frequently.
  • Senior leaders know their service very well.
  • Staff are well supported by highly visible and approachable senior leaders and managers. They feel invested in and valued.
  • Staff experience regular supervision and much-improved management support which offers them reflection and clear direction.
  • Staff morale is high, and they are very positive about the progress the local authority is making.
