Are you a motivated and enthusiastic individual with excellent communication skills? If so, and you are also looking for an opportunity to develop existing skills and learn skills in a new area, a career in internal audit could be the role for you!

Due to the continued expansion of the Southern Internal Audit Partnership and the development of apprenticeship standards for internal audit, we are looking to recruit an Apprentice to join our growing team. Kick start your career and join our team of 50 talented IT and generalist auditors who have a passion for supporting our partners and clients through challenging times.
About us:
The Southern Internal Audit Partnership (SIAP) provide internal audit and consultancy services to a wide and growing portfolio of public sector clients in the south of England. We pride ourselves on delivering an innovative, customer focused service aligned to the business needs of our clients and to achieving improved outcomes. This is supported through our recent External Quality Assessment conducted by the IIA that confirmed our compliance against all aspects of the Public Sector Internal Audit Standards (PSIAS). For more information about careers in the Southern Internal Audit Partnership see our website: Southern Internal Audit Partnership.
The Role:
In joining the team, you will assist in the delivery of assignments using a risk based audit approach across a portfolio of partners and clients. Additionally you will assist in maintaining and acquiring key management information to support delivery to our Partners and clients. You will work with experienced colleagues who will support you with your personal development and receive on the job training in addition to the vocational training. Our aim is to support your commitment to become an effective Internal Audit Practitioner.

To maintain a healthy work/life balance you will have the flexibility to work from home or from the office (whilst meeting business needs) in the delivery of your portfolio of work. We also operate flexi time to allow employees the opportunity for a flexible approach to their working hours.

By the end of the apprenticeship you will have learned practical internal audit skills which will allow you to work flexibly across the Southern Internal Audit Partnership, contributing to and assisting lead auditors with the delivery of high quality internal audit services to a wide range of public sector partners and clients. You will also have successfully completed the required study with the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors which is the only professional association for internal auditors in the UK and Ireland.

Following successful completion of the apprenticeship, there is the potential for the fixed term contract to lead to a permanent contract, with the potential for a range of progression paths in SIAP. Through continued support and developmental opportunities, you will be able to progress in your Audit career.
Your Skills:
You will be eager to learn, determined and adaptable and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills – both oral and written. With the ability to absorb information quickly, you will also be able to identify and analyse problems in a logical and effective way. Above all, you will share our passion to support and add value to our partners and clients to ensure they have effective risk management, governance and control mechanisms in place.
