Reporting to Chief Clinical Physiologist
To deliver Cardio Respiratory services to the Trust and as necessary, on both Southport and Ormskirk sites.
To be an effective member of the Cardio Respiratory Department by providing a high standard of Cardiac and Respiratory Physiological service and patient care.

Main duties & responsibilities
- • Undertakes competently, completely, and timely a broad range of clinical (cardiac and respiratory) physiology investigations carried out in the Trust.
- Undertakes direct patient contact for clinical physiology procedures within departmental and national guidelines.
- Organise and prioritise own workload.
- Works competently to analyse, interpret and report complex clinical data (e.g., Exercise Tolerance Testing and ambulatory recordings) including any drug administration as necessary.
- Train trainee members of the department and Junior Doctors in Exercise Tolerance Testing.
- To undertake ILS training.
- Responsible for the safe use of all the equipment within the department and specific areas.
- Liaise with Lead Clinical Physiologist to maintain appropriate level of resources.
- Responsible for own Continuing Professional & Personal Development.
- Recognise equipment faults and ensure details are documented and appropriate steps taken for their correction.
- To be undertaking training within specialist areas of the department e.g., echo, full respiratory function tests.
- Ensure clean and tidy procedure environments are maintained.
- Ensure up to date information bases for patient and other activities are maintained.
- Self-motivation to ensure completion of individual and overall workloads.
- Contribute to meetings with other staff relating to changes within the working area.
- Assist with maintenance of local risk management policies.
- Understands and uses Medway and other Cardiac/Respiratory Information systems and their application within Cardiac/Respiratory Physiology.
- Engage in audit, research and development relevant to the Cardio Respiratory Department.
- Comply with Trust and local policies.
