About the Role

Base Location: Aberdeen, Inverness, Glasgow, Dundee or Perth

Salary: £38,073 - £44,257 + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | On Site presence required 5 days a week

SSEN Transmission has an opportunity for a Site Supervisor experienced in the principles of construction and commissioning of major transmission overhead line works. The role is initially required on a major project in the North East of Scotland where we are refurbishing over 170km of overhead line. These works are critical in ensuring safe performance of our network and allowing the connection of new renewable generation.

The construction supervisor will have the following key duties and responsibilities:

• To represent the business during the construction phase of projects ensuring the suppliers carry out works in accordance with contractual requirements and SSEN policies and procedures. A key element of this will be measuring completed works against the works information for payment purposes and management of compensation events.

• The Site Supervisor should adhere to SSEN Safety Management Systems, best practice and the SSE Large Capital Projects Governance processes for all projects.

• They will represent the business accordingly and at all times convey the SSE Safety culture.

• The Site Supervisor will typically become involved with a project in advance of Gate 3 of the LCP process.

• The Site Supervisor will be required to be onsite 5 days a week. Accommodation and subsistence costs provided.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

• A working engineering and construction knowledge including the safety and CDM regulations.

• Experience in site supervision or construction at duty holder level of similarly complex works in construction or utilities. Experience in construction access works would also be beneficial.

• An understanding of project planning and in particular tracking progress against agreed plans along with working knowledge of quality requirements and experience in monitoring inspection and test plans.

• Computer literate or familiarity with computer systems and ideally with the ability to use common software such as Microsoft office packages.

• Good written and oral communication skills, including the capability of representing the project internally and externally.
