The Deputy Director, Governance Risk and Assurance has a critical role in supporting the Chief Executive as Accounting Officer in ensuing that there is an adequate and effective system of internal control. They will support the Executive Committee (ExCo), Advisory Board and its Audit and Risk Committee through the design and implementation of corporate systems and procedures that help the organisation to ensure that it is operating in line with obligations under government regulation and policy, and effectively identifying and controlling corporate risks.

The role is part of the UKHSA Corporate Services Senior Leadership Team and deputises for the Director of Corporate Services where necessary. It is the key advisor on all governance, risk and assurance matters. They will lead and develop the governance, risk and assurance function and develop a skilled and high performing team.
