Are you an experienced Electrical Design Engineer looking to use your expertise on conceptual designs?

Working with an independent automation company your electrical experience and design skills are required to work on a variety of automation projects within the food and automotive sectors.

As an Electrical Design Engineer you role will involve conceptual automation design work using Siemens and Allen Bradley, project managing your work through to build, and final hand over with the clients.

You will be mainly based in the office in North Nottinghamshire close to Worksop / Retford although remote working is also accommodated. Core hours are Monday to Thursday full days and Friday mornings, enabling long weekends, every weekend!

Day to day responsibilities of Electrical Design Engineer

• To design and implement Control and Automation systems (including Control Panels) to appropriate standards.
• Ascertain preliminary and detailed design/project requirements and solutions.
• Generate Bill of Materials
• Liaise with client’s engineering and operations teams to ensure KPI’s are met or exceeded within budget constraints
• Attend internal and external review and progress meetings.
• Manage site Health and safety including completion of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and promote strong H&S behaviour.
• Compile and collate final contract documentation, “As built” drawings, test sheets etc. for inclusion into operation and maintenance manuals.

Knowledge, skills, and experience desired:

• Time served in electrical engineering.
• ONC / HNC or Degree in Electrical and Electronic
• 18th Edition
• Significant experience of PLC and SCADA systems (hardware & programming)
• Significant experience of LV power and control designs of plant systems
• Detailed knowledge of CAD 2D packages (AutoCAD and E-Plan) for schematics / panel layouts
• Project Management experience
• Good commercial awareness
• Great communicator with internal and external customers
• Enthusiasm to learn and develop.
