Our Digital team plays a crucial role in increasing sales, reducing costs, boosting efficiency, and allowing Home Bargains to remain competitive in the retail sector for years to come. To help realise these ambitions, we are on the lookout for top Front-End Developer talent to join our expanding Digital team.
As a Front-End Developer you will work either remotely or in our Liverpool office, alongside our UX, Back-End Developers and Product Teams to build the best experience for our customers and staff. Our Front-End Developers builds rich, engaging, and responsive applications using best in class modern techniques and cutting-edge technologies that operate at a huge scale.
Job Overview- Build customer and staff facing applications you’re proud of, pass these to QA and then fix the inevitable bugs
- Client-side development
- Test applications for usability
- Ensure browser compatibility
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal systems and practices
The successful candidate must have:
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- A proven ability to build applications for broad consumer audiences
- Portfolio of work
The ideal candidate will also have experience with some of the following:
- HTML / CSS / CSS Frameworks (e.g. Tailwind)
- JavaScript / TypeScript / Frameworks (e.g. React, Angular)
- Node JS based tooling (e.g. Webpack)
- Experience of cloud solutions (e.g. AWS)
- A solid testing etiquette

With plans to increase our store portfolio to 1,000 stores throughout the UK we are a fast-paced retailer opening 50 stores a year (nearly one every weekend) - and we wouldn't have it any other way!
Package- Up to £42,200 per annum
- 37.50 hours per week
- Remote/hybrid working or Liverpool Head Office based available
- 5.6 weeks paid holiday per year including bank and public holiday allowance rising to 6.6 weeks upon 5 years' service
