Governess/Governor (live out) Job at Duke & Duchess International
Full-time English-speaking Governess/Governor required for B4 & B6 located in Kent, UK, salary £1300 gross per week. Start ASAP
A Nigerian family, located in Canterbury is seeking a qualified, professional, experienced and energetic Governess/Governor for their two sons to assist with their development.
As a Governess/Governor you will be responsible for the children’s education, supporting their current schooling programmes, offering further mentoring, educational development, homework assistance and extracurricular activities. You will be required to encourage them to be as independent as possible with their learning and to promote a positive attitude toward self-development, organise routines and accompany the children to clubs and activities.
The Governess/Governor will act as an appropriate role model/mentor to the children and promote good manners and teach etiquette and a healthy lifestyle.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified teacher holding a minimum of a PGCE/QTS or MA and have extensive experience working with the British Curriculum, along with previous experience of working in private households. The ability to speak a second language would be beneficial. A passion for travel is also desirable as the family travel often.
The working schedule is 6/1 with Mondays off, the working hours for weekdays will be 6 am — 8 am and then resuming duties at 3.30 pm – 7.00 pm, Saturdays will be 9.00 am — 6.00 pm and Sundays 1.00 pm — 7.00 pm
The family travels during the year and you will be required to travel with them.
This is a live-out position with no accommodation provided, therefore only suitable for candidates located within a commutable distance.
