Head Librarian Job at Dorset Councils
Weymouth College is looking for a dynamic and experienced Head Librarian to join our team. As the Head Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the college library and learning resource centres, developing and managing collections of resources (online and print), and providing user-focused service to students and staff.
Responsibilities will also include managing the library and learning resources staff on a day-to-day basis, maintaining accurate record-keeping in the college library management system (Heritage), liaising with academic and support teams, managing the department budget, and ensuring the library services meet the needs of all groups.
The successful candidate must have a first or post-graduate degree in librarianship accredited by the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (Cilip), or a Master's in Librarianship or Information Studies. Additionally, they must have experience of managing staff, working in a senior library position, and within a library based at an educational establishment. The candidate should also be proficient in using the Heritage library management system, MS Office program, and possess excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
