Chelmsford City Council is looking for two Housing Needs Officer’s to join its Housing Needs and Allocations team. The successful applicants will need to be able to investigate and assess applicants. Eligibility and priority in accordance with the Council's Housing Needs Register and Allocations Policy, and be responsible for applicant casework in relation to client applications, including working in partnership with internal services, external agencies and multi-disciplinary teams to ensure that the Council is meeting its statutory duties in relation to Part 6, Hosing Act 1996 as amended.

The successful applicant will also work alongside the Council’s Housing Solutions and Temporary Accommodation Teams to ensure that qualifying applicants to whom the Council owes a statutory homelessness duty have access to the Housing Register and that the case work for their Housing Register applications ensures that accommodation via Part VI of the Act can be used to discharge the Council’s homelessness duties and that applicant time in temporary accommodation is minimised.

The interviews are currently scheduled for the week commencing 16th January 2023.
