Location: Young Lives vs Cancer is a flexible employer and we’re looking for the best candidate for the role so you can be homebased or hybrid, working out of Bristol or London office. This role will require some ad-hoc travel for Executive and Governance meeting

Salary: £88,000

Interim Director of Services and Impact
Young Lives vs Cancer are looking for an interim Director of Services for a 2 year contract period. Our Director of Service is a critical role for the organisation and a vital member of the Executive Team. You’ll be accountable for ensuring that all Young Lives vs Cancer service provision delivers the best possible impact for children and young people with cancer and their families, in a safe and sustainable way.
Young Lives vs Cancer is in the midst of a services transformation, reshaping our operational delivery model and a services strategy which is underpinned by the needs of children and young people. This role will continue to lead and deliver that transformation effectively and at pace.
You’ll ensure that the voice of our service users underpins our decision making and delivery both within services and the wider organisation and drives our relentless ambition across the organisation to ensure those we support thrive and not just survive.
We need a credible leader who can work effectively to support service development and that service teams work seamlessly across the whole organisation, in particular with the income and engagement teams to support the delivery of our income aspirations.
Working closely with other Directors you’ll support our external influencing and positioning, using your high levels of credibility in the field to develop and maintain a robust network of stakeholders and influencers, both nationally and regionally, who will support Young Lives vs Cancer in meeting its mission
About you
- You’ll be a qualified social work professional, with experience of service development and transformation. A strong leader who is professional, driven and passionate to succeed. You will have experience of leading complex and diverse teams. You’ll think strategically with ability to work at pace. You will be an effective relationship manager, with the ability to support and engage with a wide range of stakeholders from the Board of Trustees, NHS, and Government to the Children and Young People we seek to support.
