This is an exciting opportunity to be a founding member of the Transaction Services team at Simon Kucher in the UK.

Simon Kucher has seen enormous success, quadrupling revenues in the past 10 years, and we have huge ambitions for our newly created Transaction Services business unit. We have already recruited a highly respected senior deals Partner to lead this new area, and we are now building up the broader team.

Whilst commercial due diligence will be the key focus of the team, we will work collaboratively with other parts of Simon Kucher, and therefore you will have the opportunity to also work on non-deal engagements; in areas such as M&A strategy, market reviews, revenue growth, pricing, marketing efficiency and digital strategy.

In launching this new team we are now looking for Managers & Senior Managers to join our London office.

The role and its impact:
  • Support leading mid and large-cap PE clients, as well as corporates, to invest in the right businesses
  • Lead a team of Consultants to deliver projects, reporting in to a Director or Partner
  • Managing workstreams or wider projects, and building the skills and capabilities of those in your team
  • Developing the key deal hypotheses, building the workplan to address these and storyboarding a clear report for the client
  • Overall responsibility for analysis and work being carried out by team members – which will likely include market and competitor dynamics to provide assurance to our clients about market scale, growth and trends, and competitive positioning of different companies
  • Over-seeing primary research such as customer surveys or interviews to understand customer behaviours and perceptions of different companies
  • Presenting key findings to the client to support their decision making
  • Building and maintaining relationships with clients – both on the project and more informally post the project
  • Working on cross-border projects with other Simon Kucher offices around the world
  • Broader engagement with the development of the team and market activities, business development, recruitment, marketing and in the early stages as we grow our work

We have adopted hybrid working, and you can expect to mix your work location between our London office, client meetings, and the option to work from home for an element of your time.

What you bring:
  • 4+ years’ experience within consulting or in the strategy/M&A function of a corporate, with experience of carrying out commercial due diligence engagements
  • Exceptional project management skills, including the ability to manage projects under time pressure
  • Experience of leading high performing teams and coaching less experienced colleagues
  • Excellent business acumen skills and rigorous analytical thinking
  • A passion for commercial issues and value creation
  • Extremely articulate, with the ability to take complex ideas and communicate them in a simple and compelling style
  • A strong desire to work in a fast paced commercially agile environment
  • Specific sector experience (e.g. TMT, Business services, Fintech, Leisure & hospitality) would be a positive, but more generalist experience is also very appropriate
