WHAT TO EXPECT
This opportunity is for a Manufacturing Systems Snr Specialist in the Manufacturing Business Office ‘Manufacturing Systems’ team. The Manufacturing Business Office is responsible for developing the manufacturing business processes for deployment across Jaguar Land Rover’s global manufacturing footprint, and for the implementation of these business processes required to ensure effective IT-enabled Systems.

The purpose of this role is to work and collaborate with business stakeholders in gathering requirements for systems and translating those into tangible, working solutions in partnerships with our Industrial Operations partners. This role will also identify and deliver continuous improvement across all of our sites, to that end there will be a requirement to travel to other engineering and operational plant locations.

From time to time, the role will require international travel to all Jaguar Land Rover manufacturing locations worldwide. The role has a direct reporting line to Manufacturing & Quality Manager.

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

• Define, maintain and continuously improve standardised global Manufacturing business processes.
• Define, maintain and continuously improve the supporting tools (IT Systems) used in business processes.
• Implement a common deployment process and related tools, processes and standards.
• Ensure the ‘Plan to Deliver’ operating model maintains alignment with other JLR functions, including Industrial Operations, functional strategies.
• Support any Plant modernisation.
• Work cross functionally with business stakeholders in requirement gathering.
• Support all aspects of system releases – G-MES, Mlase, IERP, SAP S4, PLM, FacMon etc…
• Systems change board governance and SME, drive and support change requests that benefit the business and end users.
• Responsibility for definition, maintenance and continuous improvement of single set of business operating processes for plant facilities that is deployed into all Jaguar Land Rover global manufacturing operating locations. Being the business SME on the IT systems (inc. SAP/MES modules) that execute relevant functional processes.
• Own all ARIS maps, and related documentation (BPD’s, BRD’s, Functional Design Specifications, Use cases, etc) that supports the design definition of functional processes – be the business reviewer of IT design documentation
• Definition of business controls (RaCM) to ensure compliant and ‘in control’ business processes
• Responsible partnership with IT Product Owners in developing usage of IT systems in the responsible area.
• Engagement of the programme Leads / functional counterparts and engaged in a consult capacity on process definition.
• Development of a quality strategy for functional owner business process, ensuring consideration of industry benchmarking, technological developments (industry 4.0, etc),
• Support to deployment teams through the build, test and deployment phases to ensure all processes are effective and efficient (measured only once the process has been fully tested, deployed and operated in the plant).
• Establish and develop relationships with Industrial Operations functional consultants.
• Knowledge transfers, coaching and training of users in the manufacturing sites in relevant business processes.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Essential

• Relevant previous experience in Business Processes.
• Working knowledge preferable in any of SAP/MES/FLAGS and any other Legacy systems.
• Understanding of the end-to-end manufacturing processes, see the big picture.
• Experience of collaboration cross functional team working.
• Strong stakeholder management skills.
• Sets high standards for written materials and diligently follows them personally and holds others to account to achieve.
• Ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLA).
• Support business initiatives utilizing Project Management expertise.
• Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
• Serve as the conduit between the business units/departments and IT teams through which requirements flow.
• Liaise between the business, technology teams and support teams.
• Good understanding of project management lifecycle.
• Confidence to positively challenge to get the right and most effective outcome for the business.

Desirable

• Working experience in an operational / manufacturing business.
• Advanced knowledge of key business systems and processes, e.g., quality tools and techniques.
• IT skills, with a strong knowledge of process flow diagrams.
• Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Experience of working with offshore service providers.
• Working knowledge of MES processes and associated master data.
