JOB PURPOSE
The Operations Senior Coordinator role provides a range of support services to the Port Sunlight R&D scientific community. The purpose of the role is to lead and facilitate a seamless process for the day to day management and functioning of the laboratories across our site as well as supporting and contributing to the evolution of the operational model of these facilities in response to the business and program needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Consolidating, planning and prioritising operational activities on behalf of Category R&D programme teams.
- Focus on driving a positive employee experience through digital ways of working to enhance connectivity, optimising workflows and data management.
- Key interface between Unilever & 3rd parties for daily operations in line with the agreed delivery KPIs.
- Set and maintain Unilever operational standards for lab and pilot plant areas utilised by Category R&D programmes.
- Primary interface for 3rd party logistics associated with managed central storage plus provision of items such as Raw Materials, PPE, Consumables, substrates, prototypes etc to the relevant areas of activity.
- Accountable for stock management of assets and ancillaries required for all experimental activities.
- Proactive management to facilitate effective laboratory programme scheduling and reactive management of programme demands for site assets.
- Driving simplification and speed through consistent operational protocols aligned to operational KPIs that enables a creative, versatile working environment.
- Delivering training and refreshers for all users of lab and pilot plant facilities on operational excellence procedures/systems.
- Accountable for medium term plans – scheduling forecasting, coordinating planning of equipment readiness for use in advance of scientists’ needs.
- Support Operational Excellence Manager to control and maintain information management dossiers.
ALL ABOUT YOU
- Qualified to Degree level or equivalent in Science or Engineering
- Experienced Laboratory scientist and/or pilot plant experience.
- Purpose and Service : demonstrate high bias for action and drive transformation.
- Business Acumen : can apply technical capability and rigorous methodologies to impart delivered quality, engaging with different partners to identify priorities, drive change and confidence to take an unpopular stance to drive efficiency and productivity.
- Agility : comfortable to operate in a flexible and versatile environment, creating fast, practical solutions when urgency dictates
- Exceptional organisational, time management and project tracking abilities
- Excellent communication skills.
- IT/digital and data management experience including the translation of data into insights and visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
