A bit about the job:
- Managing an Operational Team of around 10-15 Assistant Underwriters within the Global, Corporate & Specialty division of Aviva alongside 4 other Team Managers based in Worthing. We support 17 different lines of business and Underwriters based in London and Regional offices.
- Delivering efficiencies to bring more complex work and Underwriting into the unit as we drive forward our Target Operating model. Supporting the Change agenda and challenging ways of working.
- Outstanding performance management, ensuring monthly 121s and annual performance appraisals are completed and providing regular feedback.
- Strong awareness of risk and governance, and passionate about data quality and identifying risks and implementing controls.
- Collating and presenting data and statistics on quality and performance of the team, as well as continued capacity planning.

Skills and experience we're looking for:
- Experience managing commercial teams.
- Insurance experience preferred but not essential.
- Proven performance management ability.
- Experience supporting change projects.
- CII qualifications desirable but not required.
