Citizens Advice Esher & District is seeking an experienced generalist adviser to provide information and support to people at our outreach sessions in community venues around east Elmbridge.
The role will be based in our main office in Esher, but will involve travel to weekly outreach sessions in the local area to help some of the most vulnerable people in our community access free, impartial advice.
We’re looking for someone who has experience of offering advice and assistance on a range of enquiry areas (including benefits, debt, housing and employment), and who can thrive independently in a pressured, client-facing environment.
To be successful in this vital role, you will:
- Be non-judgemental and able to engage sensitively with people who may be vulnerable and distressed
- Be a confident communicator, with good listening skills and the ability to understand and explain information of some complexity
- Be highly organised, able to prioritise work and keep accurate case records
