Paralegal – EMEA Work Dynamics
JLL’s Work Dynamics (WD) business partners with clients across industry sectors to enhance the performance of their real estate portfolios and people. Join our team of exceptional lawyers and professional staff that supports the WD business. We are business partners, and work side-by-side with sales and account teams to develop and execute complex solutions to our clients' evolving commercial real estate service's needs. The Paralegal WD will work at the direction of the EMEA General Counsel – WD and other senior lawyers in the team and play an integral role in the provision of full circle legal services to our client accounts and the wider EMEA WD business. The Paralegal WD will have a primary focus on supporting the team’s work on contract reviews, negotiations, closures and all procedural matters related to ongoing contract matters. You will also support the legal team’s initiatives to improve best practices and processes. You will be given wide exposure to a breadth of legal matters and there is a great opportunity for additional responsibilities, mentoring and advancement, based on interest and performance.
Core responsibilities
Support the review, drafting and negotiation of all types of contracts related to the WD business, including licensing agreements, local country agreements pursuant to multi-country MSA’s, real estate services, (transaction management, project management, lease administration agreements, technology services, consulting agreements, etc.) and take responsibility for drafting and concluding related amendments.
Serve as a partner to the Work Dynamics business team which includes providing legal support to help advance various business initiatives including the launch of new commercial products and service offerings.
Liaise with JLL’s Risk Management Department and other internal support functions (e.g., Finance, HR, Tax, Information Security, Compliance) to identify, assess, and thoughtfully mitigate JLL’s exposure to risk.
Take over and manage various databases/shared sites of the team and support the team in retrieving documents as required.
Maintain contract templates and update templates based on the legal team’s input
Carry out ad-hoc research on topics pursuant to a team member’s direction.
Draft ad-hoc letters such as letters of engagement based on templates.
Coordinate with Paralegals in other regions to ensure process efficiencies and consistencies and the execution of global legal team projects (including technology initiatives).
Organise and track the legal team’s initiatives to improve best practices.
Provide support to team members in advancing their projects/goals as needed.
Manage, develop and resolve the team’s technology requirements by co-ordinating with the JLL IT department or other relevant JLL teams as required.
Desired skills and experience for this role
In-house or Law firm experience an advantage, but not essential.
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on collaboration.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
Able to work independently, but within a team environment.
Acute attention to detail.
Self-motivated with a ‘can-do’ attitude, confident and energetic.
Proven organisational skills and ability to be resourceful.
Able to handle multiple priorities and detail oriented.
Able to carry out tasks with the highest ethical standards.
Experience working in the professional services sector is a plus, with outsourcing particularly advantageous.
Competency and interest in technology.
Qualifications
Qualified Paralegal, Law degree graduate, GDL conversion course graduate, or someone with extensive experience in a legal environment. If you have a Solicitor or non-UK equivalent qualification, this would also be considered.
