About the role:
Based in the busy parish of Hampton-on-Thames, this post will provide administrative support to the parish.
In addition to undertaking typical administrative duties such as handling general correspondence and diary management, s/he will also be responsible for interacting with parishioners visiting the office and those involved in parish activities.
Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Keeping Parish Records, particularly, Registers and Sacrament documentation
- Maintain lists for parish groups and general parish database
- Support the Parish Priest in ensuring compliance with GDPR
- Establish and maintain an efficient filing system for parish correspondence, records etc. that is recognised by the Diocese and acceptable to Diocesan Auditors.
- Print the weekly Parish Newsletter
- Assist with general correspondence and typing (including e-mails) required by the parish priest
- Compiling of rotas from time to time
- Supporting Diary management of parish appointments and events
The successful applicant will ideally be an Administrator or Secretary with substantial experience in office organisation. S/he must be a good team player with excellent communication and Microsoft office skills, including Word and Excel.

With substantial experience in office organisation, you will be a great communicator who will thrive on juggling the various competing demands of this varied and interesting role. It is therefore important that you are self-motivated and that you can multitask effectively to meet deadlines.

Hours of work: 12 – 15 Hours per week (to be agreed on with Parish Priest)
Salary: £14 per hour
