Peer Support worker – friends, family, and carers support
About the role
This is a full-time fixed-term 12 month contract

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Teesside Crisis Peer Support Team as a Peer Support Worker – Friends, Family and carer support based at Flatts Lane, Middlesbrough. The aim of the role is to offer informal support to family, friends and carers of patients who are in a mental health crisis and work with the rest of the peer team to help improve the lives of people with mental ill health by supporting and delivering interventions which minimise the impact of their condition and promote recovery and wellbeing.
Humankind recognise and value the support lived experience can offer individuals and as such it is a requirement of the role that you must have experience of caring for someone with mental ill health who you have supported to access mental health services which will enable you to act as a positive example.
We are looking for someone who is compassionate, caring and confident with excellent communication and listening skills
The successful applicant will need to be capable of independent travel across the Middlesbrough/Redcar area to cater for meeting clients.
