Principal Population Health Analyst, working with North Central London
Integrated Care System (NCL ICS) and hosted by London Borough of Islington.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated individual, with experience of working in population health analysis. As part of our established specialist Public Health Knowledge, Intelligence and Performance team (consisting of health and care analysts from variety of backgrounds, covering health, social care and housing), you will have a specific remit to support the development of HealtheIntent’s Analytics workstream. The post-holder will work within a networked team of analysts based in organisations across the ICS, working into the ICB Population Health Management team.
In this varied role, you will be responsible for gathering requirements, designing, and user testing the analytical dashboards we build within HealtheIntent. Your skills in software such as SQL and Tableau (or other programming and business intelligence tools) will be used to develop dashboards, and support others with their projects.
The role will suit someone who is substantially numerate, with a proven record of pulling together complex reports with excellent data analysis and presentation.
You will be proactive in engaging with a range of different health and care
professionals on the Analytics workstream, and to gather feedback on the products we develop. You will also support other analysts in this work, managing project teams from different backgrounds and organisations to develop dashboards and other deliverables to support frontline health and care professionals. You will also be responsible for providing training and support to colleagues and teams across the system to use the analytical dashboards. the role is an excellent opportunity to develop your analytical and managerial skills, while working on a wide-reaching programme of work.

Islington Public Health is a key part of the Council, and leads the way in improving the health and wellbeing of the borough’s population, and reducing health inequalities. As part of this, we play a role in the development of the content of North Central London’s Integrated Care System (NCL ICS) population health management platform, Cerner Oracle’s HealtheIntent. NCL ICS consists of a partnership of 22 health and care organisations from the five London boroughs of Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey and Islington.
Cerner Oracle’s HealtheIntent platform joins up the health and care records of the 1.5 million people within the five boroughs of NCL, and provides a unique opportunity to improve health and care outcomes at both individual and population level. HealtheIntent represents a step change in how data and analysis can be used to support frontline health and care professionals in their work.
The post-holder will be part of the Islington Public Health Knowledge, Intelligence & Performance team, but work within a networked team of analysts based in organisations across the ICS, working into the Central Population Health Management team. The role will be focused on the development and deployment of HealtheAnalytics, and the post holder will provide public health input into the development of these dashboards within the platform. They will be responsible for a range of different projects, working with different external stakeholders (clinicians, care professionals and other analysts), to deliver complex analytic tools that are of a high quality and can be used to improve patient care.

The post holder will project manage individual dashboard builds or workstreams, working with small teams from across the 22 organisations within the health and care system in North London to do this, as well as colleagues from Cerner, as required.
They will work as part of the NCL ICS HealtheIntent programme team which includes a Director of Digital, Head of Population Health Intelligence, Population Health Analyst Lead (leading on the delivery of Population Health Management Analytics for NLP), a Programme Manager, system analysts, as well as specialist support for digital, data management, clinical safety, testing, adoption and deployment, and information governance.
