Background

The Change Support Unit (CSU) is a central resource to help City University of London (City) deliver change more effectively, creating a positive impact on the student and staff experience.

With an ambitious new University Strategy, this is an exciting time to join both City and an expanding CSU team.

We are investing in our capacity in both project and change management to ensure that the committed portfolio of strategic change projects are supported and implemented successfully.

Responsibilities

The Project Support Officer will support the roll out and successful operation of City’s Project Management Office, overseeing delivery of City’s ambitious change portfolio, championing quality standards and good practice in project management.

They will be expected to undertake a wide variety of tasks including communicating with stakeholders, assisting with planning the delivery of current and new projects, managing and coordinating the administrative aspects of City’s change portfolio.

They will promote the benefits of continuous improvement and change and be proactive in seeking new opportunities to bring best practice to City, supporting the CSU vision to “Engage, Inspire, Empower”.

Person Specification

The role holder will have proven experience of supporting projects, including support to projects boards and committees, and be used to a ‘front facing’ or busy team environment.

They will have a good understanding of project delivery. Experience will include working with project managers and sponsors, and demonstrable understanding of the pressures affecting the implementation of complex change projects.

Excellent problem-solving skills and a solutions-focused outlook are required, combined with excellent interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills.
