Job Description:

We are looking for a Proposal Manager (UK Institutional Telecom Projects) to join Airbus Defence & Space in Portsmouth or Stevenage.

You will be the primary point of contact between Airbus and the UKSA and ESA to propose developments for key technologies. This may be through direct building block funding requests, through system demonstration activites or through development of business opportunities that leverages funding for either of the above.

Tasks & Accountabilities:

• Lead the efforts within Airbus to build proposals to the UKSA and ESA for development of technology building blocks and / or prototype missions in support of product development road maps.
• Define Key success factors and the bid strategy; leading consortium coordination, bid preparation and discussions with Airbus senior management
• Pull together the different aspects of a winning proposal, coordinating with consortium members and various departments within Airbus, mastering the proposal schedule and budget and managing the team efforts during the proposal phase
• Organise the various internal gate reviews according to the Airbus processes
• Prepare the proposal documentation with appropriate vetting prior to release to the agencies
• Prepare the negotiation strategy and team organisation
• Report progress on a regular basis to the Senior Management

Skills & Experience:

• Experience of technical project and proposal management
• Knowledge of satellite and satellite communications technology (preferred)
• Knowledge of UKSA/ESA environment (preferred)

You will need to be eligible to gain UK SC Security Clearance.
