About you:
We are looking for a passionate and ambitious Senior Early Years Educator to work in partnership with the Manager and Deputy to ensure all children attending the setting are kept safe and receive rich and stimulating play experiences appropriate to their age and stage of development.
You will also assist with the daily running of the nursery, adhering to the Policies & Procedures of the Setting and Storal Learning, in compliance with the Children Act, Health and Safety legislation and within the guidelines of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Main responsibilities
- Observes, supports and extends children’s learnings, utilising highly effective teaching strategies;
- Appropriately plans individual learning experiences for children under the EYFS curriculum;
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date children’s records;
- Take on key person responsibilities for a group of children;
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with colleagues, parents and/or carers, as well as other professionals, to meet the needs of each child;
- Leads, motivates and inspires their room team, keeping the team engaged and performing to consistently high levels
- Supervises staff and conduct supervisions and appraisals where appropriate under the guidance of the Manager/Deputy Manager.
- Assist the Manager in identifying areas of change and in implementing learning and teaching objectives;
- Promote the nursery to both current parents, and potential customers, to support retention and ongoing occupancy growth.
Specific measures of success:
- Individual care: Ensures every child experience a safe and stimulating nursery experience based on their individual needs;
- Record keeping: Always ensures children’s records are up to date;
- Leadership: Manages and supervises junior staff members, motivating them to improve their practice;
- Parent partnership: Develops a strong relationship with parents, building a reputation of trust.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Minimum Level 3 qualified
- First Aid Certification required
- Excellent knowledge of EYFS and experience of working with children and families
- Extensive knowledge of safeguarding
- Managing and maintaining administration requirements
Terms and Conditions:
Salary: Up to £22,256.00 per year subject to experience
Salaries are usually reviewed in April. You will normally be eligible for a salary review after completing one year’s service.
