Salary: Scale 6, Spine Point 18 £32,418 (pro rata to £29,778.65 term time only plus 3 weeks)

The Engineering departments fantastic facilities offer 3 fully equipped workshops and a CAD/CAM room with state of the art machinery, ranging from 3D printers, Laser cutters and CNC machines. We strive to encourage students to work on ‘real life’ projects that help develop their understanding of what the role of an engineer is.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in influencing the next generation of designers and engineers and will have a role in helping to shape the future of the department. A relevant degree or training in Design Technology and/or Art is an advantage but not essential. The role includes:

• Being responsible for academy resources checking, maintaining and repairing all equipment
• Providing support for pupils and using technical equipment
• Operating both manual and CAD/CAM machinery
• Supporting class teachers in creating and maintaining an orderly, safe and productive working environment within the department

The successful candidate will have a keen interest Engineering. Confidence in setting machinery and workshops in preparation for classes or the willingness to learn this skill is key. Candidates must have knowledge of how to use specialist Equipment.
