SMT Engineer (m/f/d)

We are strengthening our SMT Engineering team in the area of Electronics and ADAS at our location in Peterlee.
Your tasks:
- Working in a cross functional Engineering team, leading projects and supporting Production and Maintenance teams where required
- Selecting, sourcing, and implementing new equipment and tooling and developing processes relating to ZF manufacturing requirements
- Responsibility for developing, programming and improving SMT related processes, optimizing set up/programs to improve equipment effectiveness, analyzing process Yield to ensure process capabilities and throughput as well as analyzing defects to determine likely failure modes
- Working in a fast paced, high demanding automotive manufacturing environment and interacting with internal and external support teams
- Support ongoing machine connectivity and digitalization projects to deliver identified outcomes
Your profile:
- You will be qualified to a minimum HNC/HND standard with several years’ experience in an Engineering or Manufacturing role
- Experience of working in a similar job role in a similar environment
- Knowledge of SMT processes would be advantageous but a good understanding of lean manufacturing techniques, machine connectivity and data analysis is desirable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to generate and present reports clearly and concisely
- Interested in personal development through training and exploring new technologies – some travel may be required for these purposes
