Social Worker (Gweres Kernow) – 2 positions available.
We are looking for a full time Social Worker to work within the Gweres Kernow Service, specialising in working with children and young people with harmful sexual behaviours.
You will be part of the small, specialist team called Gweres Kernow that sits within the Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Youth Justice Service (YJS), with responsibility for working with children and young people exhibiting harmful sexual behaviours within the Youth Offending Service and Children’s Social Care. You will also mentor and support YJS staff and social workers and train staff in the area of harmful sexual behaviour.
Applicants must hold a recognised social work qualification and have experience of working with children and young people, excellent communication and assessment skills and be able to accurately record information on a database. You will have a strong sense of the child’s lived experience at the centre of your practice. You will be familiar with critical reflection and you will also be familiar with the need for positive challenge and have a record of achieving good standards of practice. Recognising this post requires specialist knowledge in the area of young people with harmful sexual behaviours appropriate training will be made available to the successful applicant.

There are two vacancies, one post will be located in the mid of the county in St Austell and the other in the West of the county in Camborne. Own transport essential.
