Main Purpose of Job:
Reporting into the Stock Control Manager, your role will be to manage stock in line with agreed stock value and service level.targets . You will work closely with all departments across the business, to take actions, which will improve supply chain management and drive sales/profit.
Key Performance Measures:
To purchase products for the warehouse as required, to ensure that in stock service levels are met, whilst keeping stock within budget / targets- Proacitvely drive effifiences within the categories managed.
- To manage the overall product lifecycle of products managed to ensure minimal company cash margin erosion.
- To deliver promotions and new ranges in line with the calendar and critical schedule
- Prompt and constructive response to issues.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Stock
- Responsible for stock management of a specific set of categories across all business channels.
- Ensure effective stock management of each category through both long term and short term supply chain plans. These category stock plans should be aligned to the overall Sales plan and include a clear understanding and strategy for long stocks, critical stocks, store and online levels, store gradings, and discontinued products etc
- Review auto orders each week, making amendments as required to ensure stock KPI’s are met.
- Review, create and analsyse stock reports using BI and Navision.
- To update the Stock Control Manager and Buying team of any supplier issues that may result in a critical out of stock position, along with any proposed plan of action
- Review inbound orders for all products prior to due date trying in the first instance to resolve issues and then escalate to the Stock Control Manager
- Ensure effective stock management of product that this highly seasonal or date related, i.e. Christmas, Diaries, Cartridges, etc.
- Work closey with the Quality/Import Manager on forecasts to help ensure future sales forecasts for Far East / Long lead time products are accurate.
- To ensure that stores & warehouse teams are aware of exceptional stock allocation activity so as to ensure an efficient supply chain throughout the business.
Promotions
- To deliver the promotion in line with the critical schedule
- To proactively challenge and review forecasts. Orders must be based on promotional volume, current stock position and forecasted sales between the point that stock is ordered and the point of delivery.
- Ensure that all promotional orders are placed at the correct price as specified in promotion document and or the corresponsdence sent by the buyer.
- Regularly review and analyse all promotional activity, including underperforming promotional lines
Other
- Data Integrity - Maintain existing sku set up as required, i.e. lifecycle, ranging and grading, cost and retail prices, etc.
- To instigate product recalls as and when required ensuring that stores are informed of what to return and where to return it to. To assist the warehouse returns team if required to ensure that stock is returned to suppliers in a timely manner.
- Ensure that supplier fines for nil/short or late deliveries are calculated and raised in line with the supplier terms.
- Work proactively with the supplier to effectively monitor, review and improve supplier performance.
- To attend and proactively participate in Range Review Meetings
- To play an active part in colleague training within the company.
- Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to ensure positive commercial growth
