This opportunity is based in Sheffield.
The built environment is a major contributor to the environmental pressures our world is facing. The regeneration and retrofit of existing buildings is crucial to support our path to meeting net-zero carbon targets. Along with environmental benefits, the commercial and social returns of transforming and reusing existing buildings are also clear. Arup's expertise enables us to conserve and re-purpose existing structures in exciting and sustainable ways; creating characterful places for occupiers whilst preserving heritage value for communities.
We have an opportunity for a summer intern to come and explore the department and our opportunities. You will have an interest in structural engineering and desire to learn about undertaking structural assessments, plus analysing and designing for modern and historical structural forms and materials.
We are looking for candidates who are studying towards a bachelor or master's degree in Civil, Structural or General Engineering.
Arup summer placement opportunities typically run for 6-8 weeks. You must be available to start the placement opportunity during Summer 2023 and commit to completing the programme in full.
What we offer you:
Beyond a great salary and stimulating, technically challenging work, Arup offers a range of additional benefits to its people. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to utilise your technical expertise to improve the lives of the most vulnerable in the communities in which we live and work through Arup's community engagement programme.
