Job title: Summer Placement – Embedded Software
Location: Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire GL12 8JR
Duration: Placements are available between 6th June and 1st September for a minimum 8-week / maximum 12-week period
Salary: £18,000 pro-rata
Overview
We are particularly interested to hear from undergraduates who are looking for the opportunity to experience and work within the electronic engineering discipline at a leading engineering company.
Our summer placements can expect to be an integral part of a project team, whose objective is to research, design, develop and deliver the next generation of products.
The scheme will enhance your current skills and knowledge, feeding your ambition to learn about the world of electronic engineering, ultimately giving you an invaluable experience that will help progress your career.
During your time with Renishaw, you will benefit from first-hand experience of some of the following:
Blue-sky project research.- Industry standard New Product Development Processes.
- Practical electronics skills. (Soldering, Commissioning, Fault finding, etc.)
- Analogue and digital circuits design, analysis and testing.
- Printed Circuit Boards design.
- Prototyping techniques.
- Algorithms and Software development (using C++, C#, Python, Matlab, etc.)
- Embedded systems development (using DSPs, FPGAs, microcontrollers, etc.)
All of this, under the guidance and mentorship of senior engineers who will help broaden your technical and commercials skills, will enable you to achieve your potential.
Where will I be working?
This role is based at our New Mills headquarters near Wotton-under-Edge in Gloucestershire, you may on occasion be required to travel to other Renishaw sites for work. As Renishaw is based in a semi-rural location, it is essential that applicants have their own form of transport or be willing to relocate to the local area.
