We wish to appoint a Targeted Youth Worker on a permanent, full-time basis based in Launceston, Cornwall, to work within the Family Assessment Support Team. The post covers North Cornwall and Callington Town and surrounding area and therefore it is essential that you hold a full and valid driving licence with access to a vehicle. It is a requirement that you have a JNC Youth and Community Work qualification or degree level equivalent qualification related to Youth studies.


Targeted Youth Support Workers (TYSW) have responsibility for undertaking assessments and supporting child planning with a family focused and relationship based approach. You would be responsible for undertaking direct group and 1:1 work with vulnerable young people 13- 18 years and their parents/carers.


Through the development and delivery of evidence-based practice you will work with empathy, resourcefulness and a solution focused approach to engage and support vulnerable young people and their families. Diverse youth work skills are required to enable swift and easy access to multiagency Early Help to support young people to be safe, have good levels of wellbeing and help them to reach their full potential. You will be organised in approach, emotionally resilient, a good communicator, be able to use your initiative and work well in teams.
