The Service & Repair department is a growing organization across EMEA and is part of the Customer Care & Supply Chain organization of Medtronic. To strengthen this team, we are looking for a Field Service Engineer to support customers in the West Midlands. Your focus will be providing the highest levels of field service and customer support across a wide range of products to customers in the UK.

This is a great opportunity to develop and drive customer loyalty and experience for Service and Repair whilst developing revenue and commercial opportunities. The successful candidate will have a key role in implementing the strategy for Service and Repair, with the goal of establishing Medtronic as an uncontested market leader as a service provider across all sectors.

A Day in the Life

  • We will offer you a position where you are responsible for proactively engaging customers within your territory.
  • You will be responsible for repairs and scheduling preventive maintenance visits whilst supporting the growth of service revenue through contract sales and renewals.
  • It will be your role to achieve service performance metrics in a way that enhances Medtronic’s reputation in the market; this will include Net Promoter Score as the single metric of customer loyalty.
  • As part of the Service & Repair team you will drive to achieve Service & Repair revenue growth, identifying and following up on revenue opportunities with your customers.
  • You will identify and address all key decision makers with respect to service & repair including Clinical engineering and EBME department heads, building strong and lasting relationships with both the business and customers is an important aspect of the role.
  • You will comply with operational guidelines and QA procedures.

Must Haves

  • Degree, HNC or equivalent in electronic/ electro-mechanical engineering
  • Service experience within the medical equipment or healthcare industry
  • Strong problem-solving skills, demonstrate initiative, contributes to process improvement
  • Customer focused, dedicated to building long term relationships and exceeding expectations
  • Have a commercial astuteness to recognize and lead revenue growth opportunities
  • Excellent communication skills

Nice to Haves

  • Experience working in a hospital environment
  • Experience in training others, including operational training of devices
  • Experience in using maintenance tracking software for documentation purposes
