Telecoms Pole Engineer Job at M Group Services
Morrison Telecom Services are focused on the design, build and maintenance of telecom infrastructure for key clients in the fixed telecom market. Working collaboratively with clients, Morrison Telecom Services brings commitment, innovation, teamwork, and accountability to deliver long-term partnerships. We are part of the telecom division of M Group services, we deliver a wide range of essential infrastructure services to the utilities, transport, data & Telecom sector across the UK and Ireland.
We are currently looking to recruit a number of 2-3 person poling teams to be based out of or Crawley depot covering our South East regions.
Individuals joining us in this capacity are doing so on a contractor basis and payment will be on piece work.
Your duties & responsibilities will be:
- Proven track record of the installation and removal of poles, including the dressing of new poles.
- Safe excavation works.
- Replacing/renewing existing drop-wires.
- Operating Pole Erection Units in line with H&S legislation.
- Cable Jointing.
- Replacing and renewing OH and UG joints in the Openreach fibre and copper network.
- Operating MEWP and working at heights on telegraph poles
Essential qualifications:
- Worked within the Openreach OH and UG network.
- All relevant OR accreditations, and NOPS.
- Full NRSWA Street-works qualifications at operative level.
- Full Cat C driving licence max 6 points.
- Digital tacho card and familiar with domestic drivers’ hours and WTD.
- In possession of a driver qualification card having completed 35 hours CPC or initial CPC.
Essential requirements:
- Flexible with the availability to work away from home if required.
- PEU experience and loader slinger licence, NPORs or equivalent.
- Self-motivated, achievement orientated and be able to stay calm in high pressure situations.
- Excellent time management.
- Good communication skills, with internal and external clients and representatives.
- Tablet literate.
