TRAINEE PARTS ADVISOR

Our client is one of the leading dealerships within Northern Ireland; due to continued growth within the industry they now wish to build on their impressive team by recruiting a professional, experienced Parts Advisor to join their based in Newry.

This is an excellent opportunity for a person to grow their career with an extremely successful business and to develop their skillset by learning and working alongside the established parts department. Whilst this is an entry-level position, there are very real prospects for career progression within 12-18 months.

By assisting the existing Parts team in the above you will gain knowledge and experience, create and develop relationships internally, as well as build an understanding of the customer base, the commercial vehicle industry and the brand.

Once the relevant training and experience has been established, it is anticipated that the role will develop into a full parts role, working within the Newry depot team to ensure the smooth running of the parts department.

Responsibilities

• Initially the successful candidate will carry out duties such as the following:
• Assisting goods in by unloading and sorting deliveries
• Allocating stock to correct areas of the store
• Picking parts orders from the store for customers and internal workshop
• Assisting with stock takes
• Assisting with parts and warranty returns in line with Volvo processes
• Updating internal computer systems
• Other general parts administration duties
• Required Criteria

The Person

• Previous experience working within a business environment would be highly desirable
• Although not essential, some existing mechanical knowledge would be advantageous or a strong desire to learn and work within the commercial vehicle industry.
• Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and written) at all levels
• Possess a willingness to learn and succeed
• Be open and honest at all times and always work with integrity
• Be willing to accept change and have the ability to be flexible to adapt accordingly as business needs require
• Be a fast learner
