There is an exciting opportunity to train with the University of Reading, and to join italk - a highly regarded IAPT service within Hampshire. Italk is a large, innovative and transformational IAPT service. We are currently expanding the modalities of therapy we offer to our patient population which has led to opportunities for therapists to broaden their therapeutic knowledge and skills into modalities other than CBT if they wish post-qualification.
The successful candidates will undertake a 12 month training course at the University of Reading. During this time, you will be trained to provide High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural therapy within a stepped care model for adults with common mental health problems, including depression and a range of anxiety disorders. You will be required to attend training at the University two days a week and working with a caseload of patients within service three days a week. It is expected that you would need to relocate for this post.
The course you will be completing at the University of Reading as part of this role is a Level 2 accredited course with BABCP. This means that upon completion trainees will meet criteria to apply for provisional accreditation as a CBT therapist with the BABCP.
Permanent job roles will be offered on condition of passing the HI training course. There will be opportunities to progress to a Band 7 Therapist position within the service.
