ControlPoint was established in 2010 as a solution to a growing industry challenge around electrofusion jointing. This was a time where water companies were under increasing pressure to reduce leaks on newly installed assets, and at a time where safety in the gas industry was under scrutiny to ensure procedures were being followed correctly. ControlPoint’s unique, industry-leading system is now central to the management of PE pipelines in the water and gas industries.
ControlPoint has recently been acquired by Ovarro who work with customers and a global network of partners across Water, Oil & Gas, Broadcast, Process, Energy and Transportation to manage critical assets efficiently, intelligently and collaboratively.

We are now looking to hire a Technical Support Engineer who can support in the following areas; onscreen inspection, training, lab testing and site support. Training will be provided for this position but you will need to have a technical background.

This will require flexibility as you may need to work outside of standard hours and will involve overnights away from home.

How you will add value:

• Providing inspection cover for the JointManager inspection system (with flexibility for out of hours cover as required)
• Providing external site support services, implementation of systems, and account management to clients throughout the UK (and International where applicable) in line with contractual requirements
• Delivering training for Electrofusion, Butt Fusion and Flange Connections in line with the EUSR curriculum
• Carrying out joint and materials testing in line with industry standards for both joint failures and sample testing
• Supporting commercial activities, including roadshows, exhibitions and customer events
