We have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Analytics Technician to join our developing Transport team based in our Camborne office, in Cornwall. Our plan over the coming months is to move offices into Truro.

This Technician role is a truly unique one. You will have the opportunity to work with some of the most senior people in the business to help Hydrock build new services that set us apart from the competition, drive us towards zero carbon and make working within the company an even better experience.


Skills will you be using/learning:


  • Team Collaboration
  • Data Analysis
  • Support the technical assessments of junction performance using a range of industry-standard traffic modelling software
  • Problem solving/lateral thinking – Particularly where the solution may still be unknown.
  • Understanding of R&D and the opportunities it brings
  • Confident communication
  • Emotional intelligence


Knowledge, qualifications and skills you will need:


  • The ability to assimilate large quantities of complex information, and communicate it in a coherent and engaging manner.
  • Some working knowledge of data analysis, interpretation and presentation, in particular using Excel. In short, someone who enjoys and thrives in finding solutions to complex problems.
  • The ability to pick up new software quickly and a ‘can-do’ attitude to approaching new tasks.
  • Some experience of coding is desirable, but not essential.
  • Research skills (able to find, evaluate, analyse, and interpret information around a wide variety of topics, such as “Future Ports”, “Calculation of Embodied Carbon” etc).
  • Have an understanding of social media and work with our marketing team to connect our content with the desired audience.

  • We are a small team so looking for someone who is a self-motivated team player, happy to help others as needed and take on new challenges.
  • Being personable and a good communicator will be important.
  • Happy to take on some project administrative tasks.
  • An interest in the built environment, sustainability, social value, ESG, user experience (UX) and market creation.
