We are looking for a full time Transport Operator - Nights, to join the team at our Broxburn site.

Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off, Sunday - Saturday, 18:00 to 06:00, with 1 hour for lunch, although a degree of flexibility is required in order to meet the demands of the business.

Salary: up to £35,000

• Understand inbound volume. Use and control daily collections sheet to trigger early warning of delays.
• Continually maintain contact with Warehouse operations to ensure ‘On Time’ despatch is achieved.
• Review all load summary documents for accuracy
• Check load plans, gate-passes and load summary envelopes are correct, including the provision of temperature and information stickers and maps if required.
• Comprehend the DOT performance requirements and despatch within required framework.
• Understand the despatch time and plan collections around these times.
• Ensure that all drivers are working within a safe environment and follow driver hours’ regulations.
• Update and dealing with initial stages of Motor Collision and Personal injury packs
• Ensuring that all elements of the job are effectively communicated to drivers and sub-contractors at point of despatch.
• Deal with enquiries in a courteous and timely manner.
• Effective and timely internal and external communications.

This list is not exhaustive and the Transport Operator may be required to undertake other duties.

• Full Driving License
• Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent
• CPC National/ International qualification (desirable)

Experience:

• Working within a distribution / transport environment
• Experience of Word, Excel and Outlook
• Managing own workload within a pressurised environment
• Demonstrable capability of dealing with conflicting priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Sound geographical knowledge

Desirable

• Experience of telematics and added value components
• P & L experience
• Experience of Fleet Maintenance of contracted maintenance services
• Writing and producing customer reports
• Operator license regulations and DVSA compliance regulations
