Insider is hiring a research and scripting fellow to join its team to work on the "Food Wars" video series, as well as its spin-offs such as "Food Tours."
This is a fully paid fellowship opportunity, with an annual salary of £24,000 and a 6-month contract from June through December 2023. We have offices in Old Street and are working on a flexible basis; you are welcome to come in, or work remotely. Please note: the work will be mostly remote, but may include some in-person shoots on location and in our studio in Surrey Quays.
The fellow in this role will assist our US and UK-based "Food Wars" team to create episodes of the show. They will spend their time assisting our producers by pitching new content, researching and writing scripts for episodes, and working in our London studio to stage and shoot episodes to a high standard. They will create videos for a wide audience across the web and various social media platforms. The ideal candidate should be familiar with our existing videos and eager to contribute work in our style.
Candidates for the videography and editing fellowship should have:
- A passion for storytelling through video, specifically about food
- Ability to work quickly and collaboratively with a fast-paced team
- Experience with researching and fact-checking
- Ability to write clear and clean copy for the scripts
- An eye for detail and for moments that elevate videos to the next level
- Ability to quickly execute videos that will be shared across platforms
- Proficiency with Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop
- Experience using digital video equipment including Canon and Sony cameras
- Some on-set experience and knowledge of studio lighting techniques
- Knowledge of audio recording techniques
- A collaborative spirit and a willingness to learn
- A commitment to fair and inclusive storytelling
