Joint Protective Service has an exciting opportunity for an ethical leader to join our innovative and ambitious Chief Officer Team as Assistant Chief Constable.
The Assistant Chief Constable will be responsible for contributing to the creation of the vision and setting direction and culture for Joint Protective Services as part of the Chief Officer Team that builds public and organisational confidence and trust and enables the delivery of an effective policing service.
They will contribute to the development and implementation of the JPS Delivery Plan. They will be responsible for reviewing and driving performance and culture within their designated area of responsibility, to provide a professional, effective, and efficient policing service in line with the direction and vision of the Force’s.
The Assistant Chief Constable will contribute to the development of regional and national policing within a specific area of expertise and may be accountable for national operations or standard setting.
They will have responsibility for the strategic leadership, management, and development across policing portfolios including Armed Policing, Civil Contingencies, Dogs, Operational Support, Roads Policing, Major Crime and Scientific Services.

The Assistant Chief Constable package will include a salary in line with the National ACC pay points, £107,502 - £121,122 per annum, plus allowances which includes a relocation package and a car/car allowance in line with the Force’s arrangements. The lead Force for Joint Protective Services is Bedfordshire Police, if successful in the role you will be able to choose your Home Force.
