THE ROLE
This is an entry level role. You will work within and support a team of Garment Technologists who will be working on styles and own them from prototype through to delivery of the finished product into stores. This role will have a particular focus on quality control.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Using PLM system – training will be provided
- Clear and concise communication via email
- Understanding of basic fit requirements
- Some technical experience and knowledge required, to determine whether a garment fits appropriately for the Ted Baker customer.
- Ability to organise various meetings
- Understand specification sheets and data
- How to measure garments and note measurements onto PLM
- You will be required to work on your own product area, with GT support.
DEADLINES & REPORTING
- Manage your workload with the guidance of the GT and Senior GT
- Assist GT with measuring, setting up styles, comments and photos in PLM
- Assist GT team with typing comments in fit session and sending proto comments
- Assist GT dept with post, using courier parcel trackers / excel
- Assist GT with bulk shipment sample comments
PEOPLE/ PLANNING
- Support GT’s with preparing for fit sessions, booking fit models.
- Organising and storing fit samples
- General involvement and proactivity in daily teamwork
- Liaise with Ted’s head office warehouse and DC
- Receiving, distributing and sending packages, globally
SUPPLIERS
- Understand supplier base and their strengths
QUALITY CONTROL
- Measure and check construction and fit of all bulk gold seal samples (TGS)
- Liaise with supplier base on rejection and approval of TGS samples. Discuss findings and recommend solutions to GT team
- Highlight construction and finishing discrepancies to GT team
- Report on supplier performance at TGS stage, according to the required quality of make and measurements
- Provide weekly plan for GT team on TGS approval workload
- Organise TGS sample storage area
- Request, check and approve supplier internal inspection reports
- Investigate quality issues and feedback to suppliers and GT
- Liaise with Production team on priorities, to help organize order of fit sessions

- Computer literate in Excel, Word and Outlook.
