We are holding a Mass Health Care Assistant (Band 2) Recruitment Day on Saturday 17thDecember 2022, from 9am at Queens Hospital in Romford. This will be a ‘one stop’ day where you will be interviewed, if you have been successful and have your documentation checked by a member of the Recruitment Team, within one hour of your interview.

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated people to join our team of Health Care Assistants (HCA’s) on general ward areas across the Trust. Whilst you should have experience of working as an HCA in a hospital setting or nursing home, we are open to considering applications from those that may not have the relevant experience – you will be expected to complete your Care Certificate, once you start with the Trust, with assistance from ward staff and our HCA Intern Team.

The ideal candidate should:
  • Have excellent communication skills, good writing skills and good understanding of the English language, and be able to provide a high standard of care to our patients.
  • Be able to work independently, as well as an integral part of our team.
You will ensure the delivery of an effective and competent level of care under the instruction of Registered Nurses. You will be able to assist with patient hygiene needs, helping patients meet their nutritional requirements and all other patient needs that arise.

The post involves shift work, consisting of long days, night duties, weekends and bank holidays

To assist in the provision of quality care for all patients, under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

To assist in the clerical duties and certain other mutually agreed duties to maintain the smooth running of the day unit.

To perform venepuncture and ECG as required after appropriate training.
