Opportunities Currently Available:
Accounts Senior
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with services to clients (including planning, overseeing and reviewing services provided i.e. accountancy, tax, business advisory work etc.)
- Communicating with the engagement Partner/Manager and ‘team’ involved to ensure they are fully briefed on current assignments
- Delegating services to the ‘team’ involved ensuring client’s needs are met
- Where a need exists, encouraging existing clients to make full use of the firm’s services
- Developing and maintaining client relationships
- Preparing and monitoring budgets/WIP and prepare/aid collection of fees
- Maintaining full awareness of the firm’s internal systems and services
- Involvement in marketing activities
- Assisting the Partners and Managers in attracting new clients to the firm
- Attending networking events on behalf of the firm
- Developing and maintaining relationships with intermediaries/potential clients
- Assisting Managers and playing an active role within the technical team – motivating, training and developing staff as well as taking part in discussions regarding work-in-progress, deadlines and priorities, and technical issues arising etc
Required Experience:
- ACCA/CA qualified
- Newly Qualified or have up to 2 years post qualified accountancy experience, gained in general practice
- Technically competent in accountancy and tax compliance, with business advisory skills.
- Technically competent and experienced in Audit
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and client service skills
- Excellent organisational and people skills
- Technically competent in tax planning (desirable)
- Ability to work under pressure (desirable)
- Full valid current driving licence (desirable)
Part-Qualified Accountant
Key responsibilities:
- accounts preparation for clients including sole traders, partnerships and limited companies as well as basic tax compliance work
- Under supervision, you will work towards becoming a controller for a portfolio of clients
- As your experience grows, invariably your exposure to different types of work and clients will increase as will your level of responsibility
- You will be involved in the preparation of statutory accounts, tax compliance, communication with the wider team to ensure client’s needs are met, preparation and monitoring of budgets/WIP as well as developing and maintaining relationships with clients
- You will assist more senior staff and Managers in the training and development of more junior members of the team
Required Experience:
- AAT qualification or part qualified ACCA (or equivalent)
- At least 6 National 5 grades (or equivalent) at grade B or above
- Higher English and Maths (or equivalent)
- Experience using Microsoft Office and good overall IT skills
- Exposure to accounts packages
- Experience of accounts preparation and basic tax compliance
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent client service skills
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
- Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively
- Good attitude to continued learning
- Flexibility
- At least two years general practice experience (desirable)
- Experience using CCH and Caseware (desirable)
- Driving licence and access to a vehicle (desirable)
Newly Qualified Accountant
Key Responsibilities:
