Overview:
Element Materials Technology has a fantastic opportunity for a Business Development Associate to join our growing team in Wednesbury! Element exists to help make certain that the materials, products and processes that we test, inspect and certify for our customers are always safe, of the highest quality and fit for purpose.

You will be conducting inbound and outbound sales activity, whilst building strong relationships with key stakeholders within the business as well with clients. You will be responsible for working with our automotive clients and working with them on a consultative basis to understand their requirements.

Responsibilities:
You will have your own portfolio of customers to manage, this will be done by keeping in close contact with them, ensuring we are picking up on all of their testing and service needs. You will be involved in the full sales cycle and bringing your own ideas to the table, essentially you will be responsible for the following;

  • Establish and proactively maintain a strong professional relationship with key decision makers
  • Generation of new customer leads through outbound sales activity
  • Effectively engage with assigned, current customers (warm pipeline) with future testing needs
  • Identify current and future customer service requirements
  • Identify the full potential of an opportunity
  • Follow up in a timely manner on all communications
  • Actively utilise CRM to record activities, adding new opportunities to the CRM, updating the CRM and following up of opportunities on the CRM
  • Involvement in marketing activities
  • Chasing up Purchase Orders
  • Participate in regular pipeline reviews
  • Achieve sales goals on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • A number of targeted quotations per week
Skills / Qualifications:
This is a fast paced role and you will need to handle multiple streams of work, able to prioritise and liaise with various stakeholders.
  • Current or previous Business Development, Sales or Account Management experience
  • Experience within the Automotive industry would be advantageous but not essential
  • Ability to produce weekly and monthly sales reports
  • Experience or competent to produce customer communication via phone or email
  • Ability to solve practical customer problems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Availability and flexibility to represent the company at a broad range of events
