About The Role

We are looking for a committed and reliable individual to join our waste treatment team as Business Support. to excel in this role, you will need to be energetic and thoughtful when engaging with colleagues and senior managers alike. You will also need to be outgoing and enjoy networking and connecting teams together to orchestrate the relationship between the team, wider team, and the business.

In this role, you will provide first-class support to the Colne & Sunbury and Rodding & Upper Lee areas, and wider Home Counties region waste treatment team. You will do this by supporting operational tasks, raising purchase orders, and compiling spreadsheets/key reports for finance, H&S, and compliance. You will be adaptable, welcome change and promote continuous improvement.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Promote positive H&S behaviours across the team. Raise safety observations and actions from field staff promptly on the Thames Water H&S management system. Run weekly/monthly reports to track progress and drive performance. Manage the area H&S tracker to ensure monthly targets are met by the management team.
  • Promote ‘site pride’ throughout the team and support with the delivery of actions to achieve certification
  • The role requires excellent relationship skills coupled with a high level of understanding to prioritise the work requested and support the team in meeting their strategic goals.
  • Use customer complaint reports to log details which could prevent the call happening in the future either by establishing the trend in root cause failures that can be linked back or by considering how and who the first contact with the customer was made.
  • Setting and booking meetings for the wider team, often attending and taking minutes to support where required
  • Assist the team with ordering parts & materials on the SAP system

We are looking for you to have:

  • Good background in finance and business administration
  • Educated to GCSE level including English and Maths or equivalent
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply knowledge of the operation of the area where the job operates
  • A willingness to learn about the business and deliver small scale continuous improvement projects will keep you learning and understanding more about the team.
  • Very good verbal and written communication skills, including strong customer focus
  • Good organisational skills, personally very well organised
  • Fully competent at using the appropriate Company IT systems and Office software including MS Excel
  • Travel between Maple Lodge, Bracknell, Slough, East Hyde, Rye Meads and Bishops Stortford will be required within this role.
