Apprentice Customer Advisor – Plymouth Library Service

Plymouth Library Service is looking for enthusiastic and friendly staff members to gain an NVQ2 Customer Service qualification working as an Apprentice Customer Advisor.

You will need excellent communication and customer service skills to ensure a positive experience for everyone who uses our services and to encourage new audiences. The role is varied and interesting. We will want you to share your passion for reading, encouraging users to borrow books, eBooks and magazines.

You will support people to get online and improve their digital skills – from helping job seekers, assisting the digitally excluded or teaching children to code.
You may be running a rhymetime session for toddlers in the morning and helping someone trace their family tree in the afternoon.

The current vacancies are fixed term full-time 37hpw working either in Central Library or in various community libraries and includes 1 Saturday shift every other week.

This role is not suitable for flexible working due to the needs of the service.

Please be aware that if you are successful in your application you will be required to sit a functional skills assessment with the apprenticeship training provider. Your current and previous qualifications will also be checked to ensure that you are eligible for course funding.
