Job Description
Renishaw is currently seeking to recruit a Design Draughtsperson to join the Styli and Fixturing Products Division. Due to continued growth in demand for customised machine tool products and the increasing importance of the service to support growth in Renishaw's core business, a vacancy has arisen within the Custom Products team.
Renishaw’s Custom Products Group is a multi-skilled team comprising of applications, design, engineering, technical administration and production disciplines, providing bespoke solutions to customer requirements.
The key aspects of this role will be to support our global subsidiary network with standard and bespoke design solutions to suit their end custom needs.
There will also be a requirement to support our standard Styli, Fixturing and Custom Products design teams with day-to-day design/draughtsperson work.
Responsibilities

Detailed drawings for both supplier quotations and customer installation proposals

Checking and approving of drawings and data system entries

Provide design support and assistance with design/process problem solving

Create drawings for both manufactured components and assembly product build

Involvement in design change process improvement

Participation in departmental continual improvement projects

Work closely with all areas of the Custom Products team to create consistent, quality designs within a tight timeframe

Liaising with the global manufacturing teams to offer design support and problem solving

Collaborating with the standard products, electronics, purchasing and manufacturing teams where required

Use of key Renishaw systems: Siemens NX, Teamcenter, Syteline and PDM
Key requirements
-
HNC (or equivalent) as a minimum in a relevant engineering subject.

A working knowledge of engineering design and drawing techniques

Good PC skills with competency in the use of Microsoft Office

A working knowledge and understanding of Siemens NX CAD or a similar equivalent CAD package, although full training will be given
Desirable requirements
-
Previous expertise in the use of Syteline and Teamcenter NX

Familiarity with machine tools and CMMs i.e., how machine tools/CMMs work and their limitations

Knowledge of the Renishaw Machine Tool and Styli product range
Person specification
The successful applicant will be able to work and communicate well within a multi-disciplined team environment, and individually when required. They will be methodical and organised, with the ability to manage their own time, ensuring that the workload is prioritised as required. A can-do attitude with the ability to learn on the job is essential.
