The Scottish Qualifications Authority is Scotland’s national awarding and accreditation body. We are trusted to oversee thousands of qualifications that are available in schools, colleges and workplaces, not just in this country, but around the world.

We are looking for a Digital Learning and Development Manager to work within the Qualifications Development Directorate who develop, deliver and maintain a portfolio of qualifications and services to support the needs and aspirations of Scotland, its people and its economy. You will play a significant role within the Digital Assessment Services (DAS) team, supporting the successful delivery of the DAS team vision “To lead SQA and our stakeholders in the digital transformation of qualification assessment development, delivery and support by applying innovative, collaborative evidence-based approaches”.

The successful candidate will be required to lead and manage the continuing development, implementation and expansion of the production of high-quality digital learning experiences through our SQA Academy service, which supports SQA staff, appointees, centres and Scottish learners. The post holder will also lead in innovation of e-learning delivery, along with supporting other digital transformation activities across the DAS team. In order to do this you must be able to demonstrate experience in the following specific duties:

• Designing and managing the development of modern highly-engaging and effective learning programmes delivered through online environments.
• Working collaboratively across the team and the wider organisation to facilitate sustainable change in use of digital innovation to enhance and improve our services.
• Contributing towards the development of a strategic approach in the development and delivery of digital learning content for SQA.

Additionally you must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

• The ability to inspire and lead a team of digital learning developers and content owners from across the organisation.
• Contribute to the development of strategy which supports SQA’s broader ‘digital by default’ vision.
• An approach of continual improvements and innovation towards the delivery of digital services

Applicants, as a minimum, should be educated to SCQF Level 9 and/or be able to demonstrate direct relevant experience for this role.
