We have an opportunity for a Food and Beverage Supervisor to join our growing team

The Supervisor will be responsible for assisting in the management of the Food & Beverage operation within the Greyhound bar and Gallery restaurant.
Alongside their supervision duties within this area, they will also be expected to undertake Duty Management shifts and there will be some cross-over required in Conference & Banqueting.
About the role
Main Responsibilities:
- Supervision of the Bars operation and team, working closely with the kitchen to deliver a consistently high-quality product and service across an all day bar operation.
- Continuously develop and review your training plans, identify and coordinate staff training needs, coach and mentor staff, and assist in the training of staff including menu and wine demonstrations and tastings. Proactively test their knowledge in these areas on a daily basis including signing off of appropriate training records
- Ensure daily team briefings and proactive communication with the team
- Overseeing the hotel operations as Duty Manager when required
- To assist the F&B Manager with developing SOP’s for the department and ensuring they are trained and followed within the team
- To be aware of the hotel food & beverage budget and targets and to assist management in achieving these
- To co-ordinate with the sales & marketing team to run appropriate promotions for social media, assist with collateral for effective selling and attend meetings to drive departmental revenue
- Ensure purchase order and stock control systems are followed to provide timely delivery of stock within department
- To be responsible for departmental incentives
- Complaint management when required
- Proactively benchmark the department within the wider industry and assist in developing the department in line with or ahead of competitors
- Assist with the recruitment, induction and training of new employees in the department
- Assist with the departmental compliance of H&S, manual handling, lateness, sickness and fire
- Ensure effective communication and team work between all staff and departments which allows a harmonious and positive culture with a free flow of information and advice
- Perform related duties and specific projects as assigned by the General Manager to contribute to overall Company aims
- Provide other relief or back-up duties as needed at the hotel to ensure the optimum operation of the property

What you will need
Required criteria
- Do you have the Right to Live and Work in the UK
- At least 1 year’s previous experience in a similar role
- A good level of written and spoken English is essential
- A positive and friendly attitude
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Desired criteria
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred
